Nén Light Saigon

This is a delight of a upper class restaurant in HCMC. We ordered the 9 course dinner with alcoholic pairing. The quality of the food in combination with the paired beverages was a true delight! Only 1 course where the drink over powered the dish. The concept where a story is told is something which is highly appreciated and is comparable to 2 or 3 Michelin Star restaurants we've ate in Europe. The staff is very kind and accomodaties any need you might have. The atmosphere is very nice and it is situated away from the busy and noisy traffic of the streets. The only real setdown was the notion of a cockroach in the toilets. This was handled by the staff very correctly, but still it is kind of a bad experience. Pricewise it is one the very highly end of the spectrum, even for European pices. The mandatory service charge and Taxes are not included in the proces you see when making the reservation. All in all a recommendation with some points of attention.

I have kinda mixed feelings from this Michelin restaurant. I really liked only 2 dishes from 9 and I would say that isnt enough. The rest of them didn't have any specific or balanced flavours for me. It didn't taste bad but just very average. The staff was very kind and friendly The place itself is also very modern and clean.

Each course came with a photo and story, like dining in a gallery The food was excellent and the staff were attentive. We still had a great time despite being a little disappointed with the alcohol pairing. We opted for both alcohol and non alcohol pairings, but the pours were very small. After asking the server, we found out each glass was set to 50ml, something that should really be stated on the menu for the customers, as most would expect more. One drink was even served in a shot glass. It felt more like a wine tasting than a true pairing. For the price, ordering a bottle might’ve been better value.

The entire tasting menu felt like a journey through memories, emotions, and moments that shape life itself. Every plate was stunning to look at and even more incredible to taste. The ingredients were thoughtful, the presentation felt almost spiritual, and the balance of flavors showed unbelievable skill. The staff guided the experience perfectly, explaining each chapter of the meal with care and intention. It’s rare to find a place where dining feels like art, but Nén Light achieves that effortlessly. If you visit Saigon and want an unforgettable culinary experience that makes you reflect, feel, and savor every moment, this is the place.

Nen Light – A Journey Through Time with Vietnamese Flavours Nen Light delivers a dining experience unlike any other, built around the chef’s perspective on Time. Each of the nine courses in the full tasting menu was inventive, beautifully presented, and showcased Vietnamese ingredients in refreshing, unexpected ways. The space itself was theatrical and moody, setting the stage for the evening. My favourite course was the “Heal” dish — an absolute surprise and the highlight of the journey for me. The pacing of the menu was spot on: never rushed, never dragging, just the right tempo to savour each moment. I opted for the alcohol pairing and found it thoughtfully balanced. Some reviews mention small pours, but in my view the proportions were perfect—calibrated to complement each dish without overpowering. Anything more would have thrown the balance off (and I do enjoy a good drink!). Service was attentive, informative, and delivered with genuine warmth. Everyone seemed to love being part of creating this experience for guests, and it showed. It’s not an everyday meal, but for a special occasion or a culinary adventure, Nen Light is absolutely worth it. An inspired culinary journey that marries creativity, precision, and heart. Highly recommended.

I came here to celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary. Thanks to your wonderful dishes, we had a truly special experience that made us look back on the 17 years we’ve shared together. We sincerely thank you and your staff for giving us such an unforgettable memory.

I had dinner at Nén Light Restaurant for the first time to celebrate my birthday, and it was a memorable experience. The food stood out with its unique flavors that truly delighted my senses. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, and Mr. Học’s confident presentation added a special touch. He explained the story and ingredients behind each dish with passion, showing a deep understanding of the chef’s creative vision. This made the evening feel even more personal and enjoyable. The restaurant surprised me with a lovely birthday gift, which made the celebration extra special and left a positive first impression. However, a couple of issues did affect the evening. The waiters were a bit too eager to clear the table, even removing dishes before one of us had finished eating, which felt rushed and disruptive. The biggest concern was the noise from a nearby table of four Chinese customers, who were very loud throughout their meal. It was difficult to focus on our dining experience, and the noise significantly impacted the atmosphere. When I raised this with the staff, I was told the guests didn’t speak English and had already been asked to lower their volume. However, as I left, I spoke to the group directly and discovered that one of them spoke English fluently. They apologized sincerely, which I appreciated, but it was disappointing that the staff had not handled the situation properly or been honest with me. Despite this, the food and thoughtful details from the restaurant made my first visit a memorable one. I hope the staff can improve their handling of such situations in the future to ensure an even better experience for all diners.

We booked a full dining experience here to celebrate our anniversary. We loved the storytelling and creativity of each dish. The food presentation was stunning, with each dish resembling a work of art. The staff, particularly Huy, was very attentive and eager to explain the stories behind each dish. They also surprised us with a special gift for our anniversary, which was a thoughtful gesture that added a special touch to the experience. We loved the desserts and the bread with duck liver. However, the flavors of the other dishes were rather experimental and didn’t quite stand out. Overall we had a great time here! :)
